Seahaven is one of the few bands that I feel the immediate need to turn on during late night drives. Their recent release, Reverie Lagoon: Music for Escapism Only, is title appropriately. There are not many situations I find myself in that have not ended up with my pulling out of whatever I am focused on and simply enjoying the moment. Regardless, of whether or not I would like to.

Digging into this album more, though. a certain track called “Silhouette (Latin Skin)” is sure to appeal to all audiences. This song showcases a catchy melody line that will be stuck in your head the rest of the night. The minimalistic instrumentation leads the way to be admired many.

The most that a lister new to alternative inde rock music will have to get over is the singers voice. A melodramatic tone that takes a bit of getting used to. Fortunately, the harmonies help to pull the focus to the sound as a whole rather than all attention on the lead vocals.

Grab some friends and firewood and find a beach. As the sunsets, turn on this tune and watch the atmosphere be over taken by the power of this emotive tune.
